Abel Design Group Denver Associate Wins IIDA RMC Award

Awarded to a current student or recent (May) graduate, Mei-Ling won the award for a project completed during a study broad program in London (Jan-April 2018) with classmates Amina Cheikh and Mariah Tobin

The design project, titled “Revelation”, updates a small London church, St. Mary le Strand, designed by architect James Gibbs. The intervention occurs mostly underground where new programs can take place.

Revelation is a space where people can congregate to share, think, and discuss ideas. In the co-lab and coffee bar, people may exchange ideas, iterate off them, and come up with even better solutions. The yoga studio provides a peaceful space where one can get lost in their thoughts. Ultimately parishioners and locals have a haven in Revelation to work together as a community.

“It is evident that Mei-Ling already possesses the extra care in the thought process and application of design.  Her holistic approach to everything she does far exceeds her years in experience, and we look forward to being a continued part of her professional journey,” stated Laura Swank, Abel Design Group Associate Principal and head of the Abel Design Group Denver Interiors team.
