On Friday, September 29, 2017, Abel Design Group (ADG) was announced as the Best of City Center – Houston winner in the 2017 IIDA Texas Oklahoma Chapter Design Excellence Awards competition for its work on AZA, a law firm located in downtown Houston. One “best of” winner was selected for each of the nine cities which comprise the chapter.

Led by ADG Associate Principal Kathy Chauvin, the office design of AZA breaks convention by unabashedly reflecting the law firm’s reputation for being tough commercial litigators, while incorporating the elegance, comfort, and decorum that comes with being one of the top commercial litigation offices in Houston. The resulting space is unexpected, buttoned up, client-centric, and edgy at the same time. The space offers a surprise at every turn meant to keep opposing counsel on its toes.

“We are so honored to have won the IIDA Best of City Center award. The project not only represents great design, but our dedication to the client’s needs. I’m proud to say that AZA is now a repeat client,” stated Jeffrey Abel, Managing Principal. Chauvin and team are in the midst of the designing an expansion which will consist of additional attorney offices, staff space, and war rooms. The new project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2018.
