Having started his architectural career in Chicago, Marcus has been fortunate to have been able to design buildings in many parts of the world. His ability to transition culture and context across myriad program types stems from his background as an artist where drawing was an act of listening, crafting and executing as much as it was about seeing. Coupled with his interest in making connections and gauging people’s experience of architecture, his work is always client focused and rigorously detailed.
As Design Principal, Marcus led design teams to complete work in Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and China, as well as the US. Subsequently, as Studio Principal, he helped build a workplace practice focused on developer led mixed-use work, medical office and adaptive reuse. Returning to his role as Director of Design, Marcus remains active active in local chamber and charitable groups, as well as NAIOP and ULI.
