Simona Furini, ADG Principal and Design Director, recently completed the expansion of the European headquarters for Cheniere Energy in London.
Located in Berkeley Square House, a historical building built in 1930 in the heart of Mayfair, the design of the Cheniere expansion highlights one of the main benefits of the space, a view that overlooks the bustling Berkley Square Park. The open trading spaces on both floors open up to a panorama of tree canopies and Victorian rooftops. Private offices have been exchanged for shared amenities, and maximize the allocation of square feet per person. The use of light finishes and glass enclosed areas, further expands the space toward the park.
The signature feature of the space, an internal staircase, connecting the two trading floors, is the first internal staircase to be built in this historical building.
“Cheniere Energy has been a long-time client and partner,” stated Furini. “I designed their US headquarters in Houston and their Washington DC office. I am honored to have been selected to help them expand their London headquarters.”
