As the first new bank to open in Texas in 17 years, Gulf Capital Bank (GCB) hired Abel Design Group to create a new take on retail bank interior design - sophisticated, transparent, and welcoming. The client's lease, a 7500 sqft. dimly lit and closed off space, also formerly occupied by a bank, needed a sophisticated, hospitality-driven transformation.
The entry features a concierge desk that reinforces the desired hospitality feel. The concept of transparency is found throughout the design, from the open seating plan for the GCB Client Relationship Managers to the perforations found in the Relationship Manager desks. The back of house area is also open and welcoming with a 12’ ceiling for the bank’s open offices and workstations. The CEO and President’s office entry walls are all glass for transparency with opposing Italian leather walls for contrast. Various materials used throughout provide texture and depth to the space.
