Houston-based commercial architecture and design firm Abel Design Group, Ltd. (ADG) officially opened its Denver office in January of this year. Headed by Laura Swank, formerly of Denver-based Box Studios, ADG Denver is the third office location for the firm, and the first location outside of the state of Texas. “There are many connections between the industries, the companies, and even the people in Houston and Denver,” stated Jeffrey Abel, Managing Principal of Abel Design Group. “Our relationships have been the primary driver of our growth, and a big reason why we are here.” One of the first completed ADG Denver projects will be the BIG Power Yoga studio, opening this summer in the RiNo (River North) neighborhood. BIG Power Yoga is also a Houston-based business opening its first out-of-state location in Denver, and its third location overall. “BIG Power Yoga is just another proof point of the synergies between Houston and Denver. We are very honored to help the BIG Power Yoga brand expand,” added Abel. “Denver is a natural fit for us,” stated Laura Rust, founder of BIG Power Yoga. “We have grown by providing a uniquely powerful form of yoga that produces real results, and by word of mouth. We started considering and ultimately chose Denver for our third location because we had many clients and friends there already. Additionally, our studio will be the only Baptiste Yoga studio in the downtown area.” Rust added, “Moving into a brand new city and market has its challenges, and being able to work with ADG who has a presence in both Houston and Denver has provided us with confidence and ease during the design stage. We are planning to open our studio in the summer of 2017, and will be doing free community classes at neighboring businesses up until that point. We are using the language “Mountain Sized Yoga” to describe the impact we plan to make in Denver, changing people’s lives in a big way through the power of Baptiste Yoga.”
