Recently selected for the third consecutive year for The Houston Business Journal’s Fast 100 list, Abel Design Group continues its rapid growth to keep up with demand for architecture and design services.

As stated in the Houston Business Journal’s Meet the Fast 100 series, Jeffrey Abel, managing principal of the firm, said the company is expanding its focus, which has traditionally been on corporate interiors, to include high-end hospitality and restaurants. This work includes recurring work for Landry’s Inc.’s various concepts, both in Houston and nationally.

Architecture is another key business initiative for Abel Design Group. In addition to designing the corporate interiors for the Texas Regional Office of Mercantil Commercebank, Abel Design Group was selected to architect the debut of the first Texas-based retail Mercantil Commercebank location and continues to design new locations. The firm is currently working on its sixth banking center for this growing financial institution.

“Since early July, we’ve added 25 percent to our workforce,” Abel said, noting that the company added eight positions for a total of 36 employees.
