On Saturday, September 21, 2019, Abel Design Group was announced as the IIDA Texas Oklahoma Chapter Design Excellence Awards “Best in City Center – Houston” winner for project AZA Law Conference and Event Center. This is the second IIDA award win for Abel Design Group with the same client – AZA Law. In 2017, Abel Design Group won the IIDA Texas Oklahoma Chapter Design Excellence Awards “Best in City Center – Houston” for the AZA Law office.
“After completing their current office in 2017, we were honored AZA Law Firm chose us once again to partner with them on their exciting event space. When a client sets the expectation that they want to be blown away by the design, it gives you the freedom to get incredibly creative and really pushes the design to a whole other level. Great things happen,” stated Associate Principal Kathy Chauvin. Kathy led both AZA Law projects and has extensive experience in law firm design. AZA Law is a growing Houston based trial law firm that has built their reputation as a “talented, tough and court-room tested” high stakes litigators on behalf of their multinational corporate clients. Having designed their current space in 2015, AZA Law approached Abel Design Group to create a multi-tasking space that could be used to host cocktail receptions, as well as conduct education sessions, company-wide meetings, mock trials, and arbitrations. The design team delivered with a 4000 sq. ft reconfigurable event center that features a bar, serving island, meetings rooms, and a back of house preparation area – all with the same level of edge, elegance, and drama as the rest of the AZA Law office
