US Bank Tower Lobby

Built in 1975, and located in the heart of downtown Denver, the US Bank Tower is home to many prominent tenants. To keep in step with newly designed offices in the building and surrounding area, US Bank selected Abel Design Group to update the lobby of the building.

This building repositioning and renovation project included the integration of technology and multiple seating types to foster a sense of community for the building tenants and guests. Special features include the wraparound banquette which adds warmth to the space with soft and natural materials and offers a "third place" for building visitors and tenants to meet informally. The adjacent wood wall and canopy creates symmetry between the seating areas, and offers an alternative meeting and media zone. To enhance the functionality and flow of the space, a second revolving door was also added into the existing storefront entry.

Abel Design Group Denver Director of Operations Bryan Kristof contributed his perspective on the topic of lobby renovation to Building Dialogue magazine and used the US Bank lobby renovation project to illustrate his points in an article entitled: Activating the Lobby (pdf).

To top off the space, a custom light fixture complements the form of the light at the existing exterior canopy, cutting through the volume of the lobby and providing visual interest from both the exterior and interior.
